
Gardaí have seized €35,000 in suspected cocaine and cannabis herb along with a sum of cash having stopped and searched a car in Sligo on Thursday.
Gardaí on routine traffic patrol in the north of the county stopped a car for minor traffic offences along the N4 and carried out a search of the vehicle shortly after 1am in the morning.
During the course of the search suspected cannabis herb with a value of €20,000 and cocaine with a value of €15,000 was located in the car and seized.
A flick knife, knuckle duster and small quantity of cash were also seized.
Two men, one in his late 20s and another in his early 30s, were arrested at the scene and sent to Ballymote Garda Station for questioning.
They appeared before a special sitting of Sligo District court at 7:30pm yesterday evening and were subsequently charged.
