Gardai in Castlerea are investigating the theft of gates from a cemetery over the weekend.

The gates were stolen from Rathmoyle Cemetery, which is located near Castleplunkett.

The cemetery dates back to the early 1800's and is maintained by the local community.

Gardai have confirmed to Midwest News that the cemetery gates were stolen over the weekend, and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
