Some people have long-lasting symptoms after their Covid-19 infection, this has been dubbed "long Covid". Scientists are still researching long Covid.
Tommy spoke to two listeners this morning experiencing long Covid.
Laura is a student nurse in her final year and was diagnosed with Covid-19 almost 1 year ago. She lost her taste and smell at first and some time later developed chronic fatigue. Laura says "Last august everything smelt and tasted like vomit to me and I could not eat. Covid-19 is not a joke".
Pat was a very fit man in his fifties who enjoyed swimming and jogging. He says "I have constant pains, pains everywhere. I feel like I've aged 20 years. People don't understand how serious this is".
