A section of upper Main Street in Castlebar is cordoned off to traffic this afternoon.
It’s understood that debris fell from the roof of a building along Ellison Street and damaged a car on the street this afternoon.
Following the incident Mayo County Council closed the street to traffic for safety reasons
There is pedestrian access allowed on one side of the street, opposite the building that lost roof tiles.
Gardai in Castlebar say signage is in place and traffic is being diverted.
