New car registrations for Co Mayo for the month of January were down 21% on the same month last year.
New figures show 471 new cars were registered in Co Mayo last month - down from 602 in January 2020.
Nationally there was a 17% drop in new car registrations for January.
This is the 5th consecutive January that new car sales have fallen.
Despite the fall in new car sales, both electric and hybrid vehicles are ahead of last January, accounting for one-quarter of new cars sold last month.
