Galway Rural Development has allocated over €22,000 towards a feasibility study to CREATE under the 2014 - 2020 Leader Programme.
Cllr Mary Hoade Chairperson of the CREATE (Centre for Education, Arts, Technology and Enterprise) group and welcomes the allocation.
The funding for the feasibility is study is the first step for what will we hope deliver a bespoke building comprising cultural, enterprise and recreational facilities in Headford.
Given the numbers engaging with the arts and creative industries and given the need to enable the area's enterprise offerings and access to remote working facilities, Cllr Hoade says it is very welcome.
A consultation process will be opened up to all arts, music, and creative groups in the town as well as the local schools.
Cllr Hoade encourages people to contact the group with what they need and would like to see CREATE Headford become.
She has been speaking to Midwest News.
