Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Galway now believe the collision occurred between 6:15pm and 7:15pm yesterday evening.
The R336 Barna/Spiddal road remains closed today following the crash at Furbo.
A woman in her 50s died following the suspected hit and run incident.
The pedestrian received serious injuries after she was knocked down and it's believed she was struck by a vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.

A post-mortem is due to take place on her body at a later date.
The road remains closed, with a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators expected.
Local diversions are in place and Bus Eireann services in the area are also affected.

They are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the Furbo area between the revised time of 6:15 and 7:15pm to make this footage available to them.
