Aldi Ireland has announced plans to build a new store in Ballyhaunis.
The German discount chain will shortly submit a planning application to Mayo County Council for a new store on a site on the town's Main Street.
About 50 jobs will be created during the construction phase, with 30 permanent jobs once the store is open.
Over 100 car parking spaces will be created.
Aldi recently reached an agreement to buy a 9-acre site in the town centre, close to the Church.
Aldi already operates four stores in Co Mayo - in Castlebar, Claremorris, Ballinrobe and Belmullet, and has plans to open a store in Ballina.
