A target of raising €10,000 for Christmas Lights in Ballyhaunis this year has been achieved, with the help of a food company.
The Ballyhaunis Chamber of Commerce had launched an online fundraising campaign last month,via a GoFundMe page, rather than appealing to local businesses for funds during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Funds of some €7,500 were raised locally for the Christmas Lights campaign, and McDonnells Curry Sauce have now come on board and agreed to bring the fund up to the €10,000 goal.
10% of all funds raised in this initiative are going to the local branch of Western Care.
Anne Cunnane of Ballyhaunis Chamber told Midwest News that McDonnells Curry Sauce came on board, after hearing about the fundraising campaign on radio.
