3 Mayo based community organisations have received funding under the Mobility and Cancer Care Transport Measure of the CLÁR programme.
The Order of Malta, Mayo, Western Care Ballina, and St. Colemans Centre Achill will receive funding to provide essential transport services for people with mobility issues.
These organisations already provide transport to and from day care, and other medical therapy and respite services, and/or transport to or from designated cancer treatment hospitals and centres under the National Cancer Care Programme.
Total funding for these 3 Mayo based organisations comes to €169,000.
Deputy Michael Ring told Midwest News today he's delighted that this funding scheme, which he introduced as Minister, will provide vital funding for these worthy groups.
