Triple the number of men nationally died by suicide last year compared to women.
The HSE's "Men's Health in Numbers" report recorded 317 provisional male deaths by suicide in 2019, most of which were in the 25 to 34 age group.
The report shows that male suicide rates were highest between 2009 and 2014, which - it says - coincided with the economic recession.
