€125,000 worth of cannabis herb and cash were seized by gardai at a house in Galway yesterday evening and a man was arrested in relation to the seizure.
Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drugs Unit in Galway carried out the search of a house in the Renmore area of the city at 7pm.
During the search, they located a large quantity of cannabis herb (pending analysis) worth approximately €90,000. They also seized more than €34,500 in cash at the house.
One man in his late 20s was arrested at the scene in connection with the seizure, and was detained at the North Western Regional Garda Headquarters in Galway.
He has since been released from custody. A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in this matter.
