A man in his 30's died in a road collision on the borders of Roscommon, Galway and Offaly yesterday evening.
The collision involving a car and a truck took place between Ballinasloe and Shannonbridge shortly before 7pm.
A man in his 30's died at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Galway for post-mortem examination, while a man in his 40's was taken to Portiuncla Hospital, Ballinasloe with non-life threatening injuries.
The R357 from Ballinasloe to Shannonbridge remains closed this morning for forensic examination, and Gardai in Roscommon are appealing for witnesses.
