Details

A body has been found in the search for a missing Achill man in England.

72-year old Joseph Cafferkey - a native of Achill Island and living in York - was last seen on Wednesday 30th September, and searches for him had entered their third week, when North Yorkshire police confirmed yesterday that a body had been found in the River Ouse in York.

While he has not yet been formally identified,  Mr Cafferkey’s family were informed.
