Details

A male was arrested last night following a checkpoint on Mailcoach Road, in Sligo, on suspicion of Driving under the influence of an intoxicant.

He was arrested and brought to Ballymote Garda Station, and had to provide a specimen of blood.

He will now have to await the results to come back from the Medical Bureau of Road Safety.

He faces a possible court appearance, if the test results return positive for drugs.

Gardai are reminding motorists to Never ever drive under the influence of any intoxicants.
