Mayo Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon is calling on businesses across the region to avail of the Covid-19 Online Retail Scheme and expand their online presence.

Applications open for the €5.5 million scheme on Monday as part of the July Stimulus Package.

Businesses with an existing online presence can get 80% of project costs covered and receive funding of up to a maximum of €40,000.

The grant can be used to fund fees for service providers, to develop and implement a digital strategy supported by in-house training, and to enhance the retailer’s website and related systems.

Deputy Alan Dillon told Midwest News that he is urging businesses to apply for the scheme, following slow uptake to the restart grant.
