
The Archbishop of Tuam Dr Michael Neary has announced clerical appointments, which will take effect on a month's time.
Four priests in the Archdiocese are to retire - Canon John Fallon in Kilmaine; Canon John Walsh, Parish Priest of Aghamore, Canon Joseph O'Brien, Parish Priest of Abbeyknockmoy and Fr Patrick Mooney, Parish Priest of Glenamaddy & Williamstown.
Fr Eugene O'Boyle, who's currently curate in Achill, will become Parish Priest of Glenamaddy / Williamstown, while Fr Gerard Quirke - Curate in Westport - will move to Achill.
Newly-ordained Fr Shane Costello from Taugheen, Claremorris - who was ordained to the priesthood in Knock last Sunday - has been appointed curate in Westport.
Fr Jerald David becomes Administrator of Aghamore Parish and curate in Knock,
Fr Ronnie Boyle, Parish Priest of Letterfrack moves to Abbeyknockmoy as parish priest, while Fr Anthaiah Pudota, a native of India, becomes administrator in Kilconly, moves to Letterfrack,
and Fr Frank Conlisk has been appointed Administrator of Milltown and Kilconly.
The new appointments will take effect from Friday 25th September.
