The Carrowbeg River which flows through Westport has been illuminated in colourful lighting.
Independent Councillor Christy Hyland allocated General Municipal Allocation funding to the bridge lighting project.
Under the project the bridges of the town have been brought to life by Moran Electrical’s John Salmon under the guidance of local Mayo County Council engineer Heather Gibbons.
Cllr Hyland told Midwest News that there has been a huge positive reaction to the initiative since its completion.
