A young woman who died after a single vehicle collision in Galway on Sunday evening has been named locally.
26 year old Margaret Ward was killed when the vehicle she was in collided into a concrete post on the Headford to Tuam road.
Gardai in Tuam are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred just outside Caherlistrane.
The single-vehicle crash occurred at about 6.45 pm, when a car left the road and crashed into a concrete post.
26-year Margaret Ward, a back-seat passenger in the car, was fatally injured.
The driver and front-seat passenger, both male and aged 32 and 28 years, were taken to University Hospital Galway for treatment for their injuries.
The Tuam to Headford road reopened shortly after 1pm yesterday afternoon following a forensic examination of the scene.
Tuam Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
