
Mayo County Council has been dealing with fallen trees across a number of areas of the county since early morning, following Storm Ellen.
Cork bore the brunt of last night's storm with some significant flooding, but across the West, trees were down in a number of areas of Mayo, Galway and Roscommon, while power outages were also reported across the region.
Mayo County Council this morning reported trees down in Glencorrib, Robeen, Ballyglass, Castlegar, Castlemagarrett, Kilmovee, Cloonturk, Huntsfield, Aghamore, Gurteen, Lecarrow and Derrylea.
The latest report from the ESB shows power outages in the Claremorris and Swinford areas - impacting about 150 customers in total.
Numerous power outages were still being dealt with across counties Roscommon, Sligo and Galway.
Further heavy rain can be expected tonight, according to Met Eireann.
There's a status yellow rainfall warning in place for the entire country, until 5am tomorrow morning, with forecasters warning that heavy squally downpours and thunderstorms will bring a risk of spot flooding at times today and tonight.
