Works are to go to tender for additional accommodation at Ballintubber NS, outside Castlebar.

The works will consist of a single-storey extension to the front and side of the existing building, internal alterations to create a new internal corridor, together with ancillary works, site works and services.

Local Fine Gael TD Alan Dillon says it’s welcome  investment in the Ballintubber community and  will greatly improve the physical layout of the school, as well as providing additional facilities  for staff and pupils.  I

Deputy Dillon says it’s the second school extension for Mayo over the past month following the approval for an extension to St Oliver Plunkett NS in Ballina in June.
