Your local hospice is calling on you to 'share the sunshine' today and tomorrow as Hospice Sunflower Days go virtual due to the Covid-19 emergency.
This year marks the 30th year of the campaign, however, due to Covid-19, they have unfortunately cancelled their annual Hospice Sunflower Days on-street collection.
In 2019 the event raised almost €800,000 for hospices nationwide and €80,000 for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation which is a huge loss to frontline services.
In place of the on-street collection, they are asking the public to support their local hospice for Hospice Sunflower Days by making a donation to their local hospice online.
The CEO of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Martina Jennings says it's very different this year due to the circumstances.
