Members of Extinction Rebellion Mayo mobilised in Castlebar as part of their ‘Paint the Streets’ initiative this morning.

The group painted a bicycle lane outside Mayo County Council as part of the national call to support undertaking radical changes to tackle climate change and its effects.

Extinction Rebellion Ireland is calling for a minimum of an 8% reduction in emissions per year, to help the country meet climate change targets.

Four members of Extinction Rebellion Mayo took part in today’s event in keeping with public health guidelines.
