
A man in his 20's has been arrested in connection with burglaries at two Mayo churches yesterday.
Shortly before 5.30pm yesterday evening, Gardai in Castlebar received a report of a burglary taking place at a church in Islandeady.
Gardai responded and conducted a search, and property and cash believed to be stolen from the Church were recovered.
A man in his mid-20's was arrested and detained at Westport Garda Station.
During the course of the Garda investigation, the suspect was linked to another theft from a church in Breaffy, Castlebar earlier yesterday.
He was charged in relation to the two incidents and is due to appear before Castlebar District Court next Wednesday.
