The Government says events for over 5,000 people will not be granted licenses.
It means all summer gigs and music festivals are cancelled until September at the earliest.
The 2020 Tidy Towns competition has also been cancelled in the interests of public health and safety.
Mayo-based Minister Michael Ring says that, given the current restrictions around public gatherings, travel and adherence to social distancing, it would not be appropriate to ask voluntary groups to work on Tidy Towns projects in their communities at this time, so he has decided the Tidy Towns competition will not go ahead this year.
