3 TDs have been elected in Galway West on the 8th count.

Eamon O'Cuiv of Fianna Fail took the first seat with 11,910 votes.

Independent Noel Grealish was elected on 10,393 votes and the third seat went to Mairead Farrell of Sinn Fein on 10,340.

Surplus votes now being distributed and the 9th count is due shortly from Salthill.
