Gardai say ten burglaries have been reported in the Mayo Garda division since the start of this month - 5 in the Claremorris area, 3 in Castlebar and two in Kilkelly.
While the number of burglaries in Mayo to date this year is down over 50% on the same period last year, Gardai say the number of incidents is a matter of concern.
They're urging homeowners to take steps to prevent burglaries in their property - including the installation of alarms, and have urged people to report any suspicious activity in their locality.
