Details

The N5 road between Castlebar and Westport has been closed, following a serious traffic collision.

Mayo County Council has confirmed that the road has been closed following a collision in the Dooncastle / Sheeaune area.

Diversions are in place via Newport for both westbound and eastbound traffic.

It's expected the N5 may be closed for several hours.
