
Sligo Gardai have confirmed that the Tubbercurry to Cloonacool road reopened yesterday evening, following a fatal collision earlier in the day.
The single-vehicle collision occurred at about 9.45 yesterday morning when a car struck a wall at a bridge at Doomore, Cloonacool.
The driver - a man in his 60's - died in the crash.
His body was removed to Sligo University Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Ballymote Gardai are investigating the incident, and have appealed for witnesses.
Meanwhile, investigations are underway following a fatal farm accident in Glinsk yesterday, on the Galway / Roscommon border.
A man in his 60's died after being injured by an animal shortly after 12 noon.
His body was removed to University Hospital Galway for post-mortem examination.
Gardai and the Health & Safety Authority are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.
