Minister Shane Ross will be in Sligo this Sunday to officially launch three major infrastructural developments in the county.
After decades of campaigning ,the sod will be turned on Sunday, to mark the official start of construction on the new €100m N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin road in county Sligo.
This infamous stretch of road claimed 21 lives in recent years in road collisions.
The Minister will also inspect two other major infrastructural projects on the day - the new Western Distributor Road and the Eastern Link Bridge in Sligo town.
Enniscrone based Independent Councillor Michael Clarke told Midwest News that all of these developments, 220 million euro of investment, are a great boost to the county.
