Two males were arrested following an aggravated burglary in Ballina earlier this week, in which the front door of a house was kicked in and the owner was threatened at knifepoint.
The break-in occurred in the Ballina area at about 9.30 on Monday night, when it's understood two men broke through the front door of the property and threatened a man in his 40's with a knife.
A small amount of valuables was taken.
The man was not physically injured during the burglary.
Gardai have confirmed that two males - an adult and a youth - were subsequently arrested.
They were later released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardai have thanked the general public and the Business Watch for their assistance in this investigation.
