
A design team has been appointed to progress the building if a Rehabilitation Unit at Roscommon University Hospital.
The long-promised 20-bed unit will be a satellite centre of the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire for patients based in the West of Ireland.
The facility will cost almost €8 million, and funding approval of over €560,000 has now been received to move to the design phase of the project.
The Rehab unit was one of three major developments announced for Roscommon Hospital after the A & E Department closed.
The Endoscopy unit is now up and running, while plans are advanced for building a hospice unit in Roscommon, and now the design team has been appointed to progress the Medical Rehabilitation Unit.
