Castlebar-born novelist Sally Rooney has not been successful in making it onto the shortlist for the Man Booker prize.
Her novel "Normal People" had been on the long-list for the prestigious award, but did not make it through to the shortlist award.
Belfast-born author Anna Burns has been shortlisted for her novel Milkman.
The winner of the prize, which is worth £50 thousand pounds sterling, will be announced in London on October 16th.
