
World-famous musician Matt Molloy will perform at a concert in Foxford tomorrow evening to mark the official opening of Fleadh Mhaigheo.
The fleadh concert gets underway in the Mayfly Hotel at 8.30.
Before that, the Foxford Brass & Reed Band will deliver a welcome performance in the Market Square at 8pm.
The fleadh runs until Sunday, with competitions being held over Saturday and Sunday at the Foxford Sports & Leisure Centre and St Joseph’s secondary school.
There will also be music, singing and poetry sessions taking place at a number of venues in the town over the weekend, while a musical ramble through Drummin Wood is planned ofr Sunday.
Meanwhile, the date has been confirmed for the annual Foxford Goat Fair – this year’s event will take place on Saturday 19th May.
