Irish Water is planning to spend over €1.5 million euro improving the regional water supply schemes in two areas of Co Galway – Gort and Spiddal.
Work is due to get underway in the next two weeks, and will be completed by the end of September.
Irish Water says this investment will benefit over 5,000 customers, and ensure the treatment plants in Spiddal and Gort can meet demand for treated water and provide for future development needs.
The project will also ensure water is in compliance with current drinking water quality regulations.
