Details

President Michael D Higgins will travel to Sligo on Friday for two engagements.

At 2pm, the President will visit Mercy College Sligo and Aonad Loch Gile – Sligo’s secondary Gaelscoil at Mercy College.

At 4pm, President Higgins is due in Ballisodare to perform the official naming ceremony of the ‘Martin Savage Bridge’ after the local 16-year old who took part in the 1916 Rising.

Traffic restrictions will be in place in Ballisodare village during the proceedings.
