Castlebar Gardai are advising people to be cautious of anyone coming to their door collecting money for charity.

It’s reported that a man has been calling to houses today in the Ballyheane area of Castlebar, purporting to collect money for the Mayo / Roscommon Hospice Foundation.

The Hospice says they do not carry out door-to-door collections, and Gardai are advising householders to be wary of anyone calling and looking for donations.
