
Junior Health Minister Jim Daly is to visit Roscommon University Hospital later today, and the Rosalie Unit in Castlerea.
The Minister for Mental Health & Older People Jim Daly will visit Roscommon Hospital to see at first-hand the ongoing developments at the hospital.
The Minister will view the continued expansion, including the new Endoscopy Unit, and will be given an update on the proposed new Rehab Unit.
Minster Daly will also visit the Rosalie Unit in Castlerea this evening, amid concerns about the future of the care home.
The unit caters for elderly people with Alzheimers and dementia, and currently has 13 residents, with over 20 vacant beds, as no new patients have been admitted in the past year and a half.
Families of residents in the Rosalie Home fear the HSE may be planning to close the unit and move the residents to other facilities in Castlebar and Ballinasloe.
