The Liquidator appointed to Mayo Renewable Power in Killala confirmed to Midwest News yesterday that the facility has not been sold.
It follows some local speculation that the Biomass-fuelled power plant had been bought recently.
In 2016, while under construction, Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton was appointed as the liquidator to the company.
Mayo Renewable Power had planned to build a wood-chip burning electricity generating station in Killala at a cost of up to 200 million euro, but work ceased in July 2016 as the project ran into a funding shortage.
