Details

Mayo County Council was last night named Council of the Year at the 2018 LAMA Awards in Croke Park.

The accolade recognises the efforts of Mayo County Council working with community to deliver projects and initiatives across the county.

Two projects also went on to win the outright national awards in their categories – Westport 250 and the ‘It’s for Girls’ initiative by Mayo Sports Partnership.

The national awards recognise and celebrate community and Councils working together. They provide a great opportunity to highlight the work done within our communities between Local Authorities and Communities in bringing novel and progressive projects to fruition.

Head of Communications at Mayo County Council, Martina Hughes confirmed this morning that Mayo County Council were delighted to be shortlisted as finalists for 7 projects in a number of categories this year.
