Staff at health and care service organisations across the country have voted to strike in a row over pay restoration.
The stoppage will involve SIPTU workers at Section 39 organisations – including Western Care, Ability West, the Cheshire Foundation and Rehab Ireland.
In 2010, funding allocations to Section 39 bodies were cut in line with the public service pay cuts.
However, while public servants have seen significant restoration, Section 39 workers have been given no indication of when they can expect their salaries to be reinstated.
SIPTU members say they will strike on 14 February if the dispute is not resolved in the meantime, with more stoppages to follow.
