A Castlebar councillor has raised his concerns over the standard of the footpath restoration work undertaken by Virgin Media throughout the county town.
Independent councillor Frank Durcan has called for a larger bond to be secured by the local authority in future when any company requires to interfere with the footpaths in Castlebar.
At the monthly meeting of Castlebar Municipal District councillor Durcan described the present standard of the restored footpaths as unacceptable and dangerous.
He told Midwest News today that the roads in Castlebar are safer than the footpaths for pedestrians in Castlebar at present.
Midwest News has contacted Virgin Media for a comment.
