As record numbers of patients are waiting on trolleys for admission to hospitals across the country again today, the situation at the emergency dept of Mayo University hospital remains the same as yesterday with 20 patients on trolleys today, according to the INMO Trolley watch figures.
The full emergency protocol is in place at the Castlebar facility and the public is advised of long waiting times.
There are 677 patients on trolleys awaiting admission to hospitals nationwide at present.
26 on trolleys ay Sligo University Hospital, 20 at Portiuncula, and 19 at University Hospital Galway.
