Gardai in Claremorris are investigating the theft of 8 outboard engines from boats that were docked at Cushlough on Lough Mask, outside Ballinrobe overnight.

The estimated combined value of the engines is 25,000 euro.

Gardai say the theft occurred sometime after midnight last night.

Local boatmen say they have captured the theft on CCTV, and can see that two persons were involved in what they describe as “a well planned operation”.

They carried out the theft at about 2am this morning.
