Over €474,000 in funding has been provided for Sports Equipment in Mayo under the Sports Capital & Equipment Programme.

This money will benefit 34 organisations from a variety of sporting disciplines across the county.

This funding allocation is only for sports equipment, in the first round of sports capital allocation and the geants range from €900 up to over €37,000.

Mayo Fine Gael Deputy Alan Dillon has welcomed the funding and congratulated the successful applicants.

He told Midwest Radio’s John Morley that he will be working to ensure the funding can be drawn down as quickly as possible..
