Counties Roscommon, Leitrim, Longford and Cavan are coming together as GAA communities, and are pooling their resources in an effort to confront the emigration toll which has hit the counties hard.

They want to try and slow down the number of young people leaving their counties to travel and work abroad, and also to lure back some recently departed emigrants.

Play Your Part – Help Bring your people Home – is the new campaign slogan and the group is holding a meeting tomorrow night at 8pm in the Longford Arms Hotel and are inviting anyone interested to attend,

The idea is that those involved use their GAA contacts in Ireland and abroad to try and create jobs in the 4 counties.

A number of firms from the area who currently have job vacancies will also have a special stand at tomorrow’s meeting.
