Ray Larkin's Mayo hurlers have started the Allianz National Hurling League Division 3 campaign off with a win.

Goalscorer Liam Lavin was in top form today in Enniscrone for today's game against a Sligo side who are still in search of their first win.

It was a heated affair on the windy west coast, with red cards brandished in separate incidents.
