Castlebar's Bethany Doocey missed out on a bronze medal this evening at the European U22 Championships.

Boxing in the 75KG Division Bethany put in a plucky performance but the decision went the way of her Greek opponent.

Meanwhile, there was success for Castlerea boxer Lisa O'Rourke who has secured at least a bronze medal in the 70kg category with a win over her Serbian counterpart.

The competition is currently underway in Bulgaria.

Lisa's semi-final will take place on Thursday.
