The Mayo U16 girls are Connacht LGFA A champions.

Francis Regan’s side got the better of Galway this afternoon after extra time.

Mayo were one up at half time in difficult conditions, 1-8 2-4.

Galway came back to take the lead in the dying minutes, with a converted pressure kick from Emma Stagg bringing the game to extra time.

At full time, the scoreline read Mayo 2-11 Galway 3-8.

Mayo outscored Galway by 0-7 0-2 in the overtime period to hang on and claim the title.
