Galway man Alan Kerins will feature in the new series of TG4’s well renowned sporting series Laochra Gael.
Alan played both football and hurling for Galway, and won an All Ireland Senior Football Championship with his county.
His introduction to inter county football came with controversy back in 2001, as the well established inter county hurler was brought into the football setup without playing club championship with Salthill.
Within the year, he won the Sam Maguire.
Alan holds the unique distinction of having won All Ireland Club medals in both codes and is the only man in history to do so with different clubs.
The documentary also delved into his more recent work off the pitch in setting up the Alan Kerins Project in 2005 which has raised over €5 million for many vital and life saving projects and programmes for communities across the globe.
